2027 1L Intellectual Property Summer Associate - Houston

About the role

Reed Smith’s 2027 and 2028 Summer Associate Program in the Houston office offers 1L law students interested in intellectual property work a realistic snapshot of associate life. Summer associates receive mentorship from partners and associates, guidance from writing instructors to hone analytical and persuasive writing skills, and participate in the Learning & Development Summer Academy covering Essentials of Effective Legal Writing, AI and Practical Law Training, and Effective Presentation Skills. A variety of social activities provide opportunities to connect with future colleagues and fellow summer associates.

Requirements

• Undergraduate and/or graduate degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Engineering, Biological Sciences, Chemistry, or a related technical discipline.
• Strong academic credentials.
• Not available to candidates who will require a U.S. visa sponsored by the firm (e.g., H‑1B, TN‑1, TN‑2, E‑3).
