About the role

Culver Academies is a private boarding school enrolling students from across the United States and around the world. We are seeking diverse talent to support our mission and enrich our learning environment. This position is based on our 1,800-acre campus in Culver, Indiana, on the shore of Lake Maxinkuckee.

Dates of commitment

March through September (dates are approximate).

Responsibilities

• Clean floors, furniture, chalkboards and erasers, drinking fountains, toilets, urinals, showers, walls, light fixtures, windows, and glass areas
• Wash, scour, polish, and perform other custodial work in accordance with assigned schedule
• Operate power-driven floor sweepers, scrubbers, carpet cleaners, and waxing machines
• Rearrange furniture to clean areas thoroughly
• Remove trash from buildings
• Care for school property adjacent to buildings
• Sweep walkways

Requirements

• On-the-job training will be provided
• Physical ability to meet job demands: reaching with hands and arms, lifting and carrying a minimum of 25 lbs., climbing stairs, bending, stooping, and extensive walking
• Applicants must be 14 years old
