2026 Middle School Athletic Coaches (Soccer, Basketball, Volleyball, etc.)

Certified coaching position for athletics/activities across the district. External candidates: include 2 letters of recommendation, a copy of your CHSAA coaching certificate, and your resume with your application.

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Current CHSAA Certification (or acquire prior to the start of the season)
• Proof of completing the yearly NFHS Concussion Course (or acquire prior to the start of the season)
• Proof of completing CPR and First Aid training (or acquire prior to the start of the season)
• Fundamental knowledge of the specific sport
• Experience working with high school athletes
• Ability to work as an integral part of the coaching staff
• Current medical injury treatment coursework
• Must pass various pre-employment background screenings
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend English
• Experience working with diverse cultures and backgrounds (desirable)

Responsibilities

• Supervise and instruct athletes in the specific sport
• Demonstrate effective techniques and appropriate game rules/etiquette
• Maintain a safe environment for athletes
• Foster desirable behavior and sportsmanlike attitude
• Handle forms and reports promptly and efficiently (physical examinations, eligibility, inventory, end-of-season reports, rosters, transportation forms)
• Prepare daily practice schedules
• Attend coach meetings
• Communicate effectively with principal, athletic director, staff, parents, and athletes
