About the role
The line cook position is responsible for creating guest satisfaction of the food and beverage program through preparation, preparedness, and presentation. The line cook is also responsible for the correct handling and preparation of all food items to ensure our Guests' safety and satisfaction at all times.
Responsibilities
- Prepare and serve food and beverages to park guests
- Operate cash registers
- Help maintain cleanliness and safety of assigned stand while providing quality service to park guests
- Set up the line and cook menu items
- Cook and prepare food items to general health and safety standards, as well as OC Waterpark’s park standards
- Ensure product temperature controls are met and maintained for quality and safety
- Serve food in correct portions to ensure proper food cost procedures are followed
- Answer questions, ensure quality service and resolve complaints
- Maintain proper stock levels for all serving, kitchen, dining and condiment areas are stocked with supplies; alert Team Leader to supply shortages
- Mop floors, wipe off counters, sweep, empty trash and complete other general cleaning duties
- Manage equipment, and the usage of said equipment, following health and safety guidelines
- Take proper payment and make change for food and beverage items using a cash register when required
- Provide guest service according to OC Waterpark standards when serving the guest or working with subordinates, including initiating guest interactions, answering questions and giving directions
- Maintain cleanliness and safety in assigned work area and perform all duties in compliance with OC Waterpark safety guidelines and requirements and report all unsafe or unusual conditions to supervision
- Meet scheduling availability requirements, including nights, weekends, and a minimum of two holiday periods to meet business needs
- Meet OC Waterpark's attendance requirements as outlined in OC Waterpark's attendance policies
- Adhere to OC Waterpark's Rules of Conduct including specific costuming and grooming standards as outlined in Employee Guidelines and other park/division specific policies and procedures
Qualifications
- Must be 16+ years old
