2026 Cincinnati Open Merchandise Assistant Internship
THE ROLE
This basic timeline will provide Merchandise Interns with an idea of the diverse roles they will undertake. Merchandise Interns will be involved in various tasks, including working with inventory processes and spending time in The Shop. Merchandise Interns will be able to collaborate with Legends staff and leading tennis merchandise and apparel manufacturers. This experience will offer you valuable insights into the overall operations of a tennis championship.
Essential Functions
- Beginning of August:
- Assist in receiving all merchandise for The Shop
- Receive product cartons
- Conduct inventory processes
- Organize and distribute merchandise around The Shop
- Absorb and distribute merchandise around The Shop
- Assist with set-up and visual displays within The Shops
- Work with national vendor representatives to move products into the store
- Create a customized portfolio of inventory based on each property and operating as a true extension of each client's brand
- Event Week:
- Assist our full-time merchandise staff in running The Shop throughout the Cincinnati Open event week (August 11th – 24th)
- Manage temporary staff in various areas of the merchandise operation
- Cook with vendors on product related tasks and questions
- Resolve customer service issues and inquire on customer satisfaction
- Implement design changes to store layout to improve customer flow
- Post Tournament Week:
- Assist with the breakdown of the merchandise operations
- Aid in any post-event sales and load out process
Compensation
Competitive salary, commensurate with experience, and a generous benefits package that includes medical, dental, vision, life and disability insurance, paid vacation, and 401k plan. Paid hourly plus overtime – Standard Rate: $14.00 Housing provided by LGM. More details provided during interview process. Staff uniforms provided for event days
