About the role
This position will be located at our Aeronautics Systems Sector in Melbourne, FL. The selected candidate will participate in System Engineering, Software Development, System Integration and Test, Operations and Maintenance, Change Management and Documentation for systems that will be used to verify and validate mission and vehicle systems through multiple levels of test.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software for use across multi-domain, multi-platform system integration laboratories
- Analyze and interpret formal and informal customer requirements and generate corresponding lower-level requirements that acknowledge technical, schedule, and cost constraints
- Consult with customer stakeholders and present ideas in small group settings
- Create innovative technical design in compliance with established requirements
- Build high-quality, fully performing software in compliance with coding standards and technical design
- Define, implement, and document system tests
- Perform software and hardware integration/troubleshooting
- Focus on lab system configurations
Requirements
- Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026. Majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
- Have an active U.S. Government Secret (or higher) clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Qualifications
- For an Associate Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer (T01): Be completing or has completed their Bachelor’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026. Majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
- For a Systems Modeling & Simulation Engineer (T02): Be completing or has completed their Master’s degree from an accredited institution by August 2026 or is completing or has completed their Bachelor's degree from an accredited institution and has 2 years of software/modeling & simulation engineering experience by August 2026. Majoring in or having majored in Computer Science, Software Engineering, Computer Engineering, or other related STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Math) degree
- Have an active U.S. Government Secret (or higher) clearance with the ability to obtain and maintain Program Special access within a reasonable period of time, as determined by the company to meet its business needs (U.S. citizenship is a pre-requisite)
Preferred Qualifications
- Have an overall cumulative GPA of 3.25/4.0 or higher
- Previous internship/co-op or other work experience, leadership & teamwork capabilities, interpersonal communication skills, and activities (professional/community/extracurricular)
- Experience with C++, C, LabView, Python, or other developing languages
