In this position, you will perform duties contributing to Integration and Test (I&T) activities for space vehicle systems and their supporting hardware. You could support and/or be responsible for developing test procedures, processes, software, and support hardware designs that adhere to the requirements for the space vehicle being tested. Tasks may include testing space flight hardware where the systems under test are well understood, and the test constraints and hazards are identified to ensure the safety of the space flight hardware at all times. Test results will be analyzed, and determinations made by the operator to ensure that the space flight hardware is both healthy and operating as expected.

You must be knowledgeable in aerospace systems, spacecraft subsystems design, or mission operations. You will be working in a team environment where the team will be responsible for all I&T activities for the space vehicle being tested.

Responsibilities

  • Develop test procedures, processes, software, and support hardware designs for space vehicle systems.
  • Test space flight hardware while ensuring safety and adherence to test constraints and hazards.
  • Analyze test results to determine the health and operational status of space flight hardware.
  • Work collaboratively in a team environment responsible for all Integration and Test (I&T) activities.

Qualifications

Associate Mechanical Engineer

  • Completing or has completed a Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).

Mechanical Engineer

  • Completing or has completed a Master’s Degree from an accredited institution in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
  • Ability to obtain and maintain a U.S. Government security clearance (U.S. citizenship is required).
  • Ability to perform structural engineering tasks associated with analysis, design, and/or testing of structures.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Minimum overall GPA of 3.7.

Pay

The salary range represents a general guideline; Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers, such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills, and current market conditions. Depending on the position, employees may be eligible for additional compensation including overtime, shift differential, and discretionary bonuses.
