2026-27 Wrestling Assistant Coach
for sections present: About the role? Not present. Responsibilities? Yes, we have "Job Duties And Responsibilities" and "Specific Responsibilities". Should combine? Probably one Responsibilities section containing duties. Use - for list of duties/requirements/benefits. Use
for prose.
We need to preserve all substantive info. Remove boilerplate: "Season Dates 11/17/26-3/2/27" maybe schedule? It's a date range; could be schedule? The rule: include Schedule section only if posting actually states them. It states season dates; that could be schedule. But we need to see if we should create a Schedule section. The rule: "never create Pay/Schedule/Benefits sections unless the posting actually states them." It does state season dates, which is schedule. So we could include a Schedule section with that info. However we need to decide if it's substantive enough. It's a date range; we can put in
maybe. The rule: Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. Could combine schedule into Responsibilities? Probably better to have a Schedule section with the dates.
Compensation: "Compensation in accordance with Schedule B of the Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement. Click here to view wage schedule. Rates for this position can be found in the Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement: Appendix -c-, Schedule B Not medical or dental insurance benefit eligible." That's compensation info; we should include a Compensation section.
Benefits: It says not medical or dental insurance benefit eligible. That's a benefit statement (lack thereof). Should we include Benefits section? It states that they are not eligible. That's substantive. Could include Benefits section with that note.
Knowledge And Skills: that's a section; we can make a Requirements or Qualifications section. Use heading
for Requirements or Qualifications. The posting has "Knowledge And Skills" and "Licensing Requirements". Could combine into Requirements.
We need to not repeat job title as heading. No Job ID.
We need to remove application instructions (the "Application Procedure" lines). So drop that.
We need to remove duplicated lines, cookie/navigation/legal/EEO etc. Not present.
We need to preserve all substantive info: season dates, duties, specific responsibilities, knowledge and skills, licensing requirements, compensation, benefits note.
We must not invent or summarize away detail. Use - for any list of duties/requirements/benefits. For prose use
.
We need to decide structure: maybe sections: Responsibilities, Knowledge and Skills (as Requirements), Licensing Requirements, Compensation, Benefits, Schedule.
But rule: Prefer a few substantive sections over many thin ones. Could combine Knowledge and Skills and Licensing Requirements into a single Requirements section. But they are distinct; still could be combined.
Let's think: The posting has "Knowledge And Skills" and "Licensing Requirements". Could combine under "Requirements". That would reduce sections.
We have Responsibilities (duties). Could have a single Responsibilities section with both general duties and specific responsibilities as list items.
Compensation section.
Benefits section (note about not eligible).
Schedule section (season dates).
Thus four sections.
Now we need to format.
Responsibilities: list items: each duty sentence.
We need to extract duties from "Job Duties And Responsibilities" paragraph and "Specific Responsibilities" list.
Let's list them:
From first paragraph after "Job Duties And Responsibilities":
- Plan, accompany and supervise the team to and from all events including practices and competitions.
- Responsible for all matters pertaining to the organization and administration of coaching an athletic team.
- Assist the Director of Activities with hiring, development and evaluation of assistant coaches.
- Work with Director of Activities on specific budget requests and spending as well as fund raising as needed.
- Plan and implement both in-season and out-of-season conditioning and weight programs with the Pagel Center Staff.
- Coordinate practice and game schedules with the Student Activities Office, Activities Coordinator or other coaches.
- Enforce discipline and sportsmanlike behavior at all times and establish and manage activity penalties for breach of such standards by individual students.
- Performs other duties of a similar nature or level.
Then "Specific Responsibilities": each sentence:
- Enforce all rules of the Minnesota State High School League and Minnetonka Public School Policies as they pertain to the respective sport.
- Follow athletic department policy in ordering equipment, uniforms and supplies for the sport involved; turn in a complete inventory of all equipment at the conclusion of the season.
- Assist the Student Activities Office to maintain complete and accurate records as required (i.e. student physicals, parental consents, attendance forms, insurance records, activity/athletic code forms, etc.).
- Assist the Student Activities Office to prepare a roster of all team members to include numbers, grade level and positions.
- Responsible to verify through the MHS Activities Office that all participants are eligible.
- Report and document with an injury report form for all student major injuries immediately to the trainer, and to the Director of Activities.
- Participate in coaches meeting, PLC's, and pre and post season meetings with the Director of Activities.
- Develop and implement a transformational purpose statement.
- Develop and implement an emergency action plan as directed by the Minnesota State High School League.
Now Knowledge And Skills bullet points (list):
- Knowledge and background in the assigned sport.
- Understanding of and agreement with the Minnetonka Public School District's Student Activity and Athletic Code and the Coaches/Advisors Handbook.
- Knowledge of State, Federal and Minnetonka Public School Board Policies regarding student conduct and appropriate disciplinary action.
- Evidence of the ability to prioritize and handle multiple tasks simultaneously.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills as applied to interaction with coworkers, supervisor, parents, community members and students.
- Ability to receive work direction.
- Strong work ethic and dedication to further the benefits of student participation in co-curricular activities.
- Physical ability to perform essential job functions.
Licensing Requirements:
- Applicant must possess a coaching license or complete a MSHSL alternative program.
Compensation:
- Compensation in accordance with Schedule B of the Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement.
- Click here to view wage schedule. (maybe we keep as text)
- Rates for this position can be found in the Teacher Collective Bargaining Agreement: Appendix -c-, Schedule B
- Not medical or dental insurance benefit eligible.
But note: "Not medical or dental insurance benefit eligible." is actually a benefits statement. We'll put in Benefits section.
Thus Compensation section: just the compensation details (Schedule B etc). Benefits section: note about not eligible.
Schedule section: Season Dates 11/17/26-3/2/27.
Now we need to output HTML fragment only.
We'll use
for each section heading.
Inside each section, we can have
for prose or
- for lists.
For Responsibilities: we have many items; better as
- .
For Requirements (combined Knowledge And Skills + Licensing Requirements): also list.
For Compensation: maybe
with sentences.
For Benefits:
.
For Schedule:
.
Make sure not to include empty sections.
Let's craft.

Check: Did we preserve all substantive info? Yes.
We omitted "Click here to view wage schedule." maybe it's a link; but we can keep as text? The rule: preserve all substantive information; the link is not substantive? It's a directive to click; maybe we can keep as text but it's not essential. Could omit as it's just a link instruction. But it's part of compensation description. Might be considered substantive? It's a reference; but we already said rates can be found in the agreement. The "Click here to view wage schedule." is just a UI instruction; we could drop as it's not substantive content. Safer to keep? The rule: preserve ALL substantive information; do NOT invent or summarize away detail. The link is not substantive detail about compensation; it's just a navigation instruction. I'd drop it.
