2026-27 Varsity Assistant Football Coach - Linebackers - Shadow Mountain HS

About the role

The Assistant Football Coach will be responsible for designing and implementing program activities for the Linebackers at Shadow Mountain High School. The position is temporary and full-time (1.0 FTE), with season dates from August 10, 2026 to October 31, 2026.

Responsibilities

• Assesses student athletes for feedback and team placement.
• Attends meetings and workshops to receive and convey information.
• Communicates with parents, students, officials, administrators, and the community.
• Instructs student athletes on athletic skills, teamwork, and sportsmanship.
• Maintains records and manages uniforms, equipment, and facilities.
• Maintains student athletes' academic eligibility and provides necessary support.
• Safeguards student athletes during all aspects of their participation.
• Teaches sports techniques, playing rules, strategies, and tactics.

Requirements

• Minimum qualifications include skills in adapting to changing work priorities, administering first aid, and applying pertinent laws, codes, policies, and regulations.
• Knowledge of equipment used in the activity/program, injury prevention and treatment protocols, and relevant professional standards and practices.
• Ability to schedule activities, meetings, and events; gather and collate data; and utilize a variety of job-related equipment.
• Problem-solving skills to analyze issues and create action plans.
• Physical demands include occasional lifting, carrying, pushing, and pulling, some climbing and balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, with 20% sitting, 40% walking, and 40% standing.
• Work environment includes exposure to temperature extremes and risk of injury and illness.
