Summary
This Secondary Special Education Teacher will work in the Multi-Categorical program at Webber Middle School for the 2026-27 school year.
Job Tasks
Develop, plan, prepare, and implement course content, format, structure, and schedule.
Create classroom materials, activities, and lesson plans.
Develop Individualized Education Plan (IEP) goals, objectives, and transition plans.
Schedule staff and meetings in compliance with IEPs.
Instruct students in various settings across curriculum to students with a wide range of skills.
Organize and facilitate schedules of students and paraprofessionals.
Assist in the supervision and direction of special education paraprofessionals.
Create a classroom environment that maximizes instructional opportunity.
Supervise the behavior and wellbeing of students in the classroom and all educational settings.
Administer discipline when appropriate.
Maintain documentation pertinent to academic, social, and emotional progress and needs of students.
Communicate students' progress and needs with parents/guardians and other staff as needed.
Collaborate with teachers, support personnel, administrators, and other special education providers to enhance instruction and improve student outcomes.
Collaborate with outside agencies to promote student success.
Collaborate with colleagues in team and building-based meetings and discussions.
Demonstrate a commitment to understanding, appreciating, and making accommodations for student diversity.
Include and engage families in the student's education.
Support all Poudre School District policies, procedures, and expectations.
Provide personal and professional excellence.
Attend work and arrive in a timely manner.
Participate in department, team, building, IEP/staffing, and district meetings and discussions.
Attend student and/or family conferences and other meetings.
Participate in social, cultural, interscholastic, and extracurricular activities.
Participate in professional growth opportunities.
Education, Experience, and Licenses Required
Bachelor's degree with proper teaching licensure program required.
Experience in an educational setting with students with special needs preferred.
Criminal background check required for hire.
Valid Colorado teaching license with appropriate endorsements required.
Crisis Prevention Institute (CPI) required within 3 months of hire.
CPR and First Aid certifications encouraged.
