Expo Elementary is seeking an Academic Support Teacher for the 2026–2027 school year. This role focuses on providing targeted interventions in math and reading.

Qualifications

  • Valid Minnesota Department of Education teaching license for Elementary Education level and subject area.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Knowledge of core curriculum areas the teacher is responsible for instructing.
  • Knowledge of teaching and learning strategies to meet diverse student learning styles and abilities.
  • Knowledge of multicultural, gender, and disability-fair curriculum concepts.
  • Knowledge of research and trends in teaching and learning styles.
  • Knowledge of instructional technologies.
  • Strong classroom presentation and management skills.
  • Strong interpersonal skills to work effectively with students, parents, district staff, and community members from diverse backgrounds.
  • Excellent organizational skills.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, both orally and in writing.
  • Ability to plan and implement lessons aligned with district and school goals and objectives.
  • Ability to adapt teaching styles to diverse student populations.
  • Ability to evaluate student performance and present evaluations in ways that foster higher achievement.
  • Ability to work in a cooperative learning environment.
  • Ability to utilize computer and multimedia technology as appropriate.

Responsibilities

  • Provide instruction in core curriculum areas; make appropriate use of instructional resources and technologies.
  • Develop and implement innovative methods for delivering instruction to students.
  • Support Minnesota Graduation Standards; implement district and school goals and objectives.
  • Evaluate student performance using school/district systems; promote student achievement; maintain required records and reports.
  • Maintain contact and communication with parents regarding student academic development; participate in parent-teacher conferences.
  • Perform classroom management duties; enforce student conduct rules; take appropriate disciplinary action when necessary.
  • Pursue ongoing professional growth and development in assigned curriculum areas; attend required district professional development.
  • Contribute to the district’s Strong Schools, Strong Communities initiative by partnering with staff to enhance student achievement and align resources.
  • Perform other related duties as assigned.

Essential Functions

  • Perform all duties outlined under Responsibilities.
  • Regular and reliable attendance.
  • May be exposed to various cleaning products.

Pay

This is a 10-month, full-time (40 hours per week) position with a pay range of $58,584 – $111,399. The maximum hiring step is step twenty (20). The full salary schedule is available in the Teachers contract.
