2026-27 SPED Instructional Assistant/Personal Care RN - Paradise Valley HS

The Personal Care Registered Nurse is responsible for the care of an individual student. The exact needs of the student will be discussed in the interview. This position requires a valid RN license and collaboration with the Special Education Department to ensure all Individualized Education Program (IEP) requirements are met.

Essential Functions

• Aid in the care of the student according to their care plan.
• Keep track of the student's health and developmental status.
• Support nursing care plans with specific goals and interventions tailored to the student's needs.
• Manage student behavior to create a safe and optimal learning environment.
• Document nursing care using a computer program.
• Participate in various meetings such as staff, district, IEPs, 504s, etc., to convey and gather medical and health-related data.
• Report student/school health and safety status to the assigned administrator and appropriate agencies.
• Respond to emergency situations to resolve immediate safety concerns and direct to appropriate personnel/agency.
• Maintain up-to-date knowledge in the field of specialization.
• Support the school and district's goals and objectives.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications:
• Minimum two years recent experience in a public nursing medical, pediatric, or emergency room setting.
• Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
• Current professional nursing license.
• Certified CPR.
• AzNurse certification or National School Nurse Certification within three years of hire.
• Criminal Background Clearance.
