Essential Functions

• Administers subject specific assessments and tests.
• Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress.
• Affirms student progress towards objectives, expectations, and/or goals.
• Counsels students or refers students to appropriate school personnel.
• Demonstrates pedagogical approaches that engage learners.
• Differentiates classroom work.
• Directs student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and/or student workers.
• Instructs students.
• Manages student behavior.
• Maintains student safety in various educational environments.
• Participates in meetings and PLC teams.
• Prepares written materials.
• Reports health and safety issues.
• Responds to inquiries.

Responsibilities

• Working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods.
• Directing other persons within a small work unit.
• Utilizing resources from other work units.

Job Requirements

• Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in job-related area.
• Skills: Applying assessment instruments, operating standard office equipment, and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
• Knowledge: Applying curriculum and instructional techniques, appropriate codes, policies, regulations and/or laws, age appropriate activities, lesson plan requirements, stages of child development, behavioral management strategies, assessment instruments and techniques, methods of instruction.
• Ability: Establishing and maintaining constructive relationships, adapting to changing work priorities, maintaining confidentiality, exhibiting tact and patience, working flexible hours, meeting deadlines and schedules, working as part of a team, adhering to all district policies and procedures.

Education and Certification

• Bachelor's degree in job-related area.
• Arizona Teaching Certificate appropriately certified in core content area.
• SEI Endorsement required.

Clearances

• Criminal Background Clearance.
• Valid Arizona IVP Fingerprint Clearance Card.
