Responsibilities
- Provide evaluations for students with developmental, sensory, and motor needs in collaboration with building teams and the Committee on Special Education.
- Deliver a range of therapy and interventions to support students with disabilities.
- Consult with building teams on assistive technology, sensory integration, and neurodevelopmental approaches.
- Prepare Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) and attend CSE meetings.
- Collaborate with parents, physicians, related service providers, and outside agencies.
Requirements
- Must currently hold the Civil Service title of Occupational Therapist OR be reachable for appointment from the current Civil Service Occupational Therapist list of eligibles.
- New York State License as an Occupational Therapist; currently registered by the New York State Education Department OR possess a limited permit to practice issued by NYSED.
- Experience as an occupational therapist, preferably in a school or pediatric setting.
- Initiative, strong communication skills, and knowledge of special education and academic support.
Qualifications
- Attendance at New Teacher Orientation on August 25-27, 2026, is required.
Pay
Highly competitive salary based on experience and graduate credits, per Rush-Henrietta Central School District Teachers' Contract.
