Essential Functions

  • Administers subject specific assessments and tests.
  • Advises parents and/or legal guardians of student progress.
  • Affords feedback to students, parents, and administration on student progress.
  • Collaborates with instructional staff, other school personnel, parents, and community resources.
  • Counsels students or refers them to appropriate school personnel.
  • Demonstrates pedagogical approaches that engage learners.
  • Differentiates classroom work.
  • Directs student teachers, instructional assistants, volunteers, and student workers.
  • Instructs students.
  • Maintains students in various educational environments.
  • Participates in a variety of meetings.
  • Participates on Professional Learning Community (PLC) teams.
  • Prepares a variety of written materials.
  • Reports health and safety issues.
  • Responds to emergency situations.
  • Responds to inquiries from a variety of sources.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: Bachelors degree in job-related area.
  • Skills: Applying assessment instruments, operating standard office equipment, and preparing and maintaining accurate records.
  • Knowledge: Applying curriculum and instructional techniques, appropriate codes, policies, regulations and/or laws, age appropriate activities, lesson plan requirements, stages of child development, behavioral management strategies, assessment instruments and techniques, methods of instruction.
  • Ability: Scheduling activities, meetings, and/or events, gathering, collating, and/or classifying data, using job-related equipment.
  • Responsibilities: Working under limited supervision using standardized practices and/or methods, directing other persons within a small work unit, utilizing resources from other work units.
