About the role
The Department of Chemistry and Biochemistry in the College of Natural Sciences is seeking to hire a pool of lecturers for the 2026-27 academic year. Positions are available as needed and may involve teaching general chemistry lectures or labs, organic chemistry lectures or labs, or other advanced courses.
Responsibilities
- Teach assigned courses based on qualifications and departmental needs.
- Develop and maintain course materials and syllabi.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of relevant literature and teaching methodologies.
- Participate in departmental meetings and committees.
- Engage in professional development activities.
Requirements
- Minimum Education: Bachelor of Science degree in Chemistry, Biochemistry, or a related field.
- Preferred Qualifications: Teaching experience in various chemistry and biochemistry disciplines, advanced degrees (MS, EdD, PhD).

Pay
Lecturer A/2 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $5,507 – $6,677 per month
Lecturer B/3 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,221 – $13,224 per month
Lecturer C/4 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $6,825 – $14,523 per month
Lecturer D/5 Full-Time Equivalent Salary Range: $8,593 – $15,211 per month
Schedule
Most new lecturers are hired at the Lecturer A or B rank. Lecturer appointments are temporary and often made just prior to the start of the academic term.
