About the role

Green Dot Public Schools seeks experienced professionals to teach High School Building & Construction Career Technical Education (CTE) courses. The ideal candidate will have a background in construction, skilled trades, or building, and may be eligible for credentialing to become a teacher.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare students for rewarding careers in the skilled trades.
  • Teach construction technology and industry-standard safety practices.
  • Provide hands-on building and construction techniques.
  • Mentor, supervise, coach, train, or teach others.
  • Prepare students for apprenticeships, certifications, trade schools, or careers in the construction industry.
  • Teach interviewing skills and apprenticeship preparation.
  • Develop career pathways in the skilled trades.
  • Encourage problem-solving, teamwork, and leadership among students.
  • Create internships, work-based learning experiences, and career opportunities for students.

Requirements

  • A high school diploma or equivalent.
  • At least three years of professional experience in the building and construction industry.
  • Experience mentoring, supervising, coaching, training, or teaching others.
  • Licensed contractors are encouraged to apply.
