Essential Functions

  • Answers telephone system for the purpose of screening calls, transferring calls, responding to inquiries and/or taking messages.
  • Greets individuals entering the building (e.g. visitors, parents, students, etc.) for the purpose of responding to inquiries; and/or directing individuals to appropriate location in accordance with established building security procedures.
  • Maintains reception area materials for the purpose of providing resource information to visitors.
  • Maintains a variety of manual and electronic documents, files, and records (e.g. student information, registrations, etc.) for the purpose of providing up-to-date information and/or historical reference in accordance with established administrative guidelines and legal requirements.
  • Processes a variety of documents and materials (e.g. forms, monies, birth certificates, immunization records, etc.) for the purpose of completing registrations for CE classes or courses.
  • Supports assigned personnel for the purpose of providing assistance with their functions and responsibilities.

Other Functions

  • Secures work site (e.g. office doors, building exit and entrance doors, turn off teacher workroom equipment, etc.) for the purpose of minimizing property damage, equipment loss and/or potential liability.

Job Requirements

  • Minimum Qualifications: High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Skills, Knowledge And Abilities: Operating standard office equipment including software and preparing and maintaining accurate records; collecting money; customer service; screening telephone calls.
  • Knowledge: Understanding of codes, regulations & laws related to student enrollment, business telephone etiquette.
  • Ability: Scheduling activities and/or meetings; gathering, collating, and/or classifying data; using basic, job-related equipment; communicating with diverse groups of individuals; maintaining confidentiality; working as part of a team; working with detailed information; working with frequent interruptions; setting priorities and working under minimal supervision; working within time constraints; ability to read, write and communicate clearly in English.

Responsibilities

  • Working under direct supervision using standardized routines; leading, guiding, and/or coordinating others; utilization of some resources from other work units is often required to perform the job's functions.

Work Environment

  • The usual and customary methods of performing the job's functions require the following physical demands: some lifting, carrying, pushing, and/or pulling, some stooping, kneeling, crouching, and/or crawling and significant fine finger dexterity.
  • Generally the job requires 60% sitting, 30% walking, and 10% standing.
  • The job is performed in a generally hazard free environment.
