About the role

The Department of Sociology at Sacramento State is seeking qualified candidates for its lecturer pool to teach lower- and upper-division courses. Duties include instruction, class preparation, grading, and office hours. Initial appointments are typically for one semester, but may be for the academic year. Appointments are made based on department needs, funding, and performance.

Responsibilities

• Instruction of lower- and upper-division sociology courses
• Class preparation and grading

Requirements

• Master’s degree, or minimum of Bachelor’s degree with successful advancement to candidacy in a Doctoral program in a related field
• Teaching experience in both in-person and online courses in higher education
• Ability to teach classes with 40 students
• Ability to work effectively with a diverse student population and embrace cultural diversity and inclusive practices in teaching

Qualifications

• Doctoral degree in a related discipline preferred

Benefits

Pay

• Lecturer A: $5,507 - $6,677
• Lecturer B: $6,221 - $13,224
• Lecturer C: $6,825 - $14,523
• Lecturer D: $8,593 - $15,211
