2026-27 Athletic Event Worker - Pinnacle HS

Location: Pinnacle High School

Temporary position, $15.15/hour

About the role

The Event Worker assists in running extracurricular events at district high schools, including selling and taking event tickets and keeping the official scorebook. This position reports to the Athletic Director or Head Coach.

Responsibilities

• Assist in ordering supplies, equipment, and uniforms to maintain availability of required items.
• Respond to inquiries from staff, parents, students, public agencies, and others to provide information or facilitate communication.
• Run extracurricular events, including operating the game clock/stat board, announcing, and maintaining the official scorebook.
• Sell and take event tickets, manage cash boxes, and ensure security during events.
• Perform other related duties as assigned to ensure the efficient functioning of the work unit.

Requirements

• Ability to perform multiple tasks and upgrade skills as needed.
• Proficiency in operating standard office equipment and using pertinent software applications.
• Skills in planning and managing projects, and preparing/maintaining accurate records.
• Knowledge of basic math, including calculations using fractions, percents, and ratios.
• Ability to read manuals, write documents, and present information to others.
• Knowledge of Arizona Interscholastic Association (AIA) athletic policies and procedures.
• Ability to schedule activities, meetings, or events; gather and collate data; and use job-related equipment.
• Flexibility to work with diverse groups and in varied circumstances.
• Ability to communicate effectively with diverse groups, maintain confidentiality, meet deadlines, and work with frequent interruptions.
• Ability to set priorities and establish effective working relationships.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent required.
• Job-related experience is desired.

Work Environment

• Physical demands include some lifting, carrying, pushing, pulling, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and crawling, with significant fine finger dexterity.
• Job requires 30% sitting, 30% walking, and 40% standing.
• Performed under conditions with some exposure to risk of injury and/or illness.

Pay

$15.15/hour
