2026-2027 Teacher of the Visually Impaired - VISION SERVICES

About the role

The Special Education Teacher Visually Impaired position at VISION SERVICES is responsible for providing specialized instruction to students who are visually impaired. This role requires a deep understanding of educational strategies and materials tailored to visually impaired learners.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement individualized education plans (IEPs) for visually impaired students.
• Provide direct instruction in reading, writing, math, and other academic subjects using tactile and auditory methods.
• Collaborate with other special education teachers, administrators, and parents to support student learning and development.
• Adapt teaching methods and materials to meet the unique needs of visually impaired students.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation of student progress and performance.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field.
• A valid teaching license in Special Education.
• Experience working with visually impaired students.
• Knowledge of assistive technology and adaptive equipment.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and other relevant software.
