Responsibilities

• Implement Lesson Plans: Follow the lesson plans provided by the absent teacher, ensuring that the curriculum is covered and educational objectives are met.
• Maintain Classroom Order: Manage the classroom environment by enforcing school and class rules, maintaining discipline, and resolving conflicts among students when necessary.
• Deliver Instruction: Present instructional materials, facilitate learning activities, and provide explanations to ensure that students understand the material being covered.
• Absess Student Progress: Monitor student behavior and academic performance, provide feedback, and report any concerns or issues to the appropriate school personnel.
• Support Student Learning: Assist students with assignments, answer questions, and provide guidance to promote student understanding and success.
• Ensure Safety: Maintain a safe and secure environment for students, adhering to school safety protocols and procedures at all times.
• Communicate with Staff: Collaborate with school administrators, teachers, and other staff members to ensure continuity in the educational process and address any issues that arise during the absence of the regular teacher.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Education or related field preferred.
• Teaching certificate or substitute teacher certification/license required (if applicable in your area).
• Previous experience working with children or in educational settings preferred.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to adapt to different classroom environments and instructional styles.
• Patience, flexibility, and a positive attitude.
• Ability to maintain confidentiality and professionalism at all times.

Schedule

This is a part-time, on-call position with flexible scheduling. Substitute Teachers may be called upon to work on short notice, depending on the needs of the school.
