2026-2027 Special Education Assistant-Moderate Severe Assistant (CPE)

Requirements

• Official transcripts verifying an Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college or a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college (transcripts required within 2 weeks of hire date) OR Copy of qualifying Praxis Paraprofessional test scores of 456 or higher
• Negative TB test results (under 1 year old)

Qualifications

Applicants must have either an Associate's degree or higher from an accredited college, or a minimum of 60 credit hours from an accredited college, or a Praxis Paraprofessional test score of 456 or higher.

Negative TB test results must be less than one year old; if the test has not yet been taken, an acknowledgment document stating that the results will be uploaded as soon as the test is completed must be submitted.

Paraprofessional Praxis exams are administered through Berkeley County School District and Dorchester District 2, with a registration fee of $75 due at the time of testing.

Depending on application volume, not all applicants may be interviewed, and candidates may be considered for multiple vacancies.

Pay

Salary Rate: $26,280 - $41,691
