2026 - 2027 School Year - Library Media Specialist

About the role

The Library Media Specialist at Robert F. Woodall Elementary School will be responsible for providing leadership and support to ensure that all students have equitable access to information resources and technology.

Responsibilities

• Oversee the collection development process to ensure that the library media center's resources meet the needs of students and staff.
• Provide instruction and guidance on the effective use of library resources and technology to enhance learning outcomes.
• Collaborate with classroom teachers to integrate library materials and services into the curriculum.
• Maintain a safe and welcoming environment for all users of the library media center.
• Assist in the planning and implementation of school-wide literacy initiatives.

Requirements

• A Master’s degree in Library Science from an ALA-accredited program.
• At least three years of experience in a school library setting.
• Knowledge of current trends in library science and technology.
• Ability to work collaboratively with teachers, administrators, and other school staff.

Qualifications

• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Experience with digital resources and online databases.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
