About the role

Jo Byrns Elementary School is seeking a certified 2nd grade teacher for the 2026 - 2027 school year. The position is available in Cedar Hill, TN, at 6399 Highway 41 North.

Responsibilities

• Instruct students in reading, writing, mathematics, science, social studies, and other subjects as outlined in the state curriculum standards.
• Develop lesson plans and materials that align with educational goals and objectives.
• Assess student progress through various methods including quizzes, tests, and classroom observations.
• Collaborate with colleagues to plan and implement effective teaching strategies.
• Maintain accurate records and report on student performance to parents and administrators.
• Participate in professional development activities to enhance teaching skills and knowledge.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in education or a related field.
• Current certification in elementary grades K-5.
• At least two years of successful teaching experience at the elementary level.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work effectively with diverse student populations.

Pay

The salary range for this position is $45,000 - $55,000 annually, depending on qualifications and experience.
