[2026-2027] Recess Coach - East Harlem Elementary and Middle School

About the role

Recess coaches are needed to provide supervision and engage students in physical activities during recess at East Harlem Elementary and Middle School. The program runs full season (yearlong) and part-time.

Responsibilities

• Supervise students during recess to ensure safety and positive behavior
• Engage students in structured and unstructured play activities
• Collaborate with teachers and other staff to maintain a safe and inclusive environment

Requirements

• Must have a passion for working with children
• Experience working with children is preferred but not required
• Ability to work flexible hours including evenings and weekends

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Basic first aid training

Skills

• Excellent communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously
• Positive attitude and energy
