2026-2027 Occupational Therapist - PHYSICAL & OCCUPATION THERAPY DEPARTMENT

About the role

This position provides occupational therapy services to students within the school district, supporting their educational goals through individualized assessment, intervention, and collaboration with school teams.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate students’ fine motor, sensory processing, visual-perceptual, and self-care skills to determine need for occupational therapy services.
• Develop and implement Individualized Education Program (IEP) goals and objectives related to occupational therapy.
• Provide direct occupational therapy services to students in individual, small-group, or classroom settings.
• Collaborate with teachers, parents, and other school personnel to integrate therapeutic strategies into the student’s daily routine.
• Monitor and document student progress toward IEP goals, adjusting intervention plans as needed.
• Participate in IEP meetings, multidisciplinary team meetings, and other relevant school-based meetings.
• Recommend and assist in the selection of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications to support student participation.
• Maintain accurate records and documentation in compliance with district, state, and federal regulations.
• Stay current with best practices in pediatric occupational therapy and school-based service delivery.

Requirements

• Master’s degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited program.
• Current Nevada license (or eligibility for licensure) as an Occupational Therapist.
• Certification by the National Board for Certification in Occupational Therapy (NBCOT).
• Experience working with school-aged children, preferably in a school-based or pediatric setting.
• Knowledge of special education laws, IEP processes, and school-based occupational therapy practices.
• Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with students, families, and school teams.
