About the role

The Special Education Generalist Self-Contained position at LYNCH, ANN ES is responsible for providing instruction to students with disabilities in a self-contained classroom setting. The role requires a deep understanding of special education principles and practices.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) for students based on their unique needs and goals.
• Collaborate with other educators, parents, and specialists to support student learning and development.
• Adapt teaching methods to meet the diverse needs of students in the classroom.
• Evaluate student progress regularly and adjust instructional strategies accordingly.
• Participate in professional development activities to stay current with special education trends and best practices.

Requirements

• A bachelor's degree in Special Education or related field from an accredited institution.
• A valid teaching license in Special Education.
• At least two years of relevant teaching experience in a special education setting.
• Experience working with students with autism spectrum disorders, emotional disturbances, or other significant disabilities.

• Strong interpersonal skills and ability to build positive relationships with students, families, and colleagues.
• Ability to manage a self-contained classroom environment effectively.
• Knowledge of state and federal special education laws and regulations.
