2026-2027 Elementary Teacher (multiple positions K-3)

Starting salary range: $56,167–$105,697 (commensurate with experience). Sign-on bonus available.

About the role

Full-time, 10-month (200-day) exempt position reporting to the school principal.

Responsibilities

• Plan and deliver an instructional program aligned with district goals and objectives.
• Promote a safe, engaging classroom environment and manage student behavior.
• Develop lesson plans and instructional materials; translate plans into learning experiences.
• Conduct ongoing assessment of student learning and modify instruction to meet individual needs.
• Stay current with educational developments through seminars, workshops, professional meetings, or research.
• Maintain accurate records for student activities, achievement, and attendance as required by district procedures and laws.
• Encourage parental involvement and ensure effective communication with students and parents.
• Manage learner behavior to maintain a conducive learning environment.
• Ensure compliance with federal, state, and local education laws, policies, and regulations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree from an accredited college or university.
• Must hold or be eligible for a Virginia teaching license with an endorsement in the appropriate subject area.
• Knowledge of current teaching methods, educational pedagogy, and differentiated instruction.
• Demonstrated ability in decision-making, problem analysis, conflict resolution, and planning.
• Knowledge of applicable federal and state education laws.
• Ability to use computer network systems and software applications.
• Strong organizational and coordination skills.
• Effective communication with students, parents, and colleagues.
• Commitment to self-evaluation and professional growth.
• Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships.

Working Conditions

• Primarily performed in a school/classroom environment; occasional field trips.
• Moderate noise level.
• Physical demands include sitting and standing for extended periods, manual dexterity for computer/data entry, and ability to lift up to 25 pounds.
• Must be able to see, read, hear, and speak clearly in classroom and telephone settings, with or without accommodations.
