About the role

The Diverse Learner Teacher provides scholars with IEPs high-quality instruction in multiple learning settings, including within the classroom, in small groups, and 1:1 to support strong scholar growth.

Responsibilities

  • Provide rigorous, engaging, and standards-based instruction to scholars with IEPs in multiple learning settings
  • Plan meaningful ways to provide instruction within the classroom, in small groups, and 1:1 to support strong scholar growth
  • Provide differentiated strategies to groups and individuals based on their needs
  • Participate in grade-level team responsibilities, including meetings, problem-solving, data-sharing, and discussions that support scholars
  • Utilize student assessment results to create IEP goals and skill acquisition goals
  • Maintain timely and accurate documentation of student progress, including IEP goals, IEP reports, lesson plans, grades, and other required records
  • Develop positive and productive relationships within the classroom community and with staff members and Legacy families
  • Create a safe and productive learning environment through strong classroom routines and procedures
  • Implement restorative practices and support scholars’ social-emotional learning
  • Demonstrate respect for diverse people, ideas, and perspectives
  • Excel in a fast-paced and multi-faceted charter school environment with grace, collaboration, and a solutions-oriented approach
  • Actively supervise paraprofessional(s) by providing schedules, checklists, and regular check-ins

Qualifications

  • A minimum of a bachelor’s degree from an accredited four-year college or university
  • A valid Illinois Professional Educator License (PEL) or equivalent required

Pay

Salary Range: $54,000 – $95,000+ per year. Based on experience and qualifications.
