Essential Job Functions
- Interns will assist the director in the preparation, carrying out, and follow-up of approximately four (4) in-person events, one of which will be the Minister's Conference in the Spring.
- Preparation for each event: work with the SUDS program director to prepare for events, including designing materials, scheduling venues, transport of materials, various arrangements, etc.
- In-person support of each event: attend and staff the event. Responsibilities may include set-up and tear down, hosting, check-in, moderating, photography, tech support, etc.
- Follow-up for each event: work with the SUDS program director to follow-up on the event, including building database, surveys, and other communications.
Internship Requirements
- Interns will receive training
- Interns must be available to support approximately four (4) in-person events during the internship. One of the events is the Minister's Conference April 2-4, 2025.
- Interns must have flexibility and be available for the Minister's Conference, April 2-4, 2025, as well as other in-person events to be arranged with directors at the beginning of the internship.
Minimum Job Qualifications
- Enrolled as a Shaw University Divinity School student in good standing.
- Ability to effectively engage and work together with others.
- Proficient computer skills utilizing MS Word, Excel, and Power Point.
- Ability to effectively multi-task and produce accurate professional work products under demanding timelines.
- Flexibility and willingness to periodically travel independently and work extended workdays and occasional weekends as needed to meet desired objectives (i.e., Shaw Days, conferences, etc.).
- Demonstrated interpersonal and organizational skills.
- Likely to legally operate an automobile in the State of North Carolina-valid driver's license.

Physical Demands
- Ability to sit or stand for up to 8 hours/day.
- Some lifting (up to 25 pounds occasionally), bending, and carrying.
- Specific vision abilities include the ability to use close vision.
- The employee is regularly required to talk and hear, and to use hands and fingers to handle or feel.
- Heavy local travel required.
