About the role
The Veggie Mixer is responsible for accurately measuring, mixing, and preparing vegetable ingredients to meet production specifications. This role ensures all mixes are consistent, food-safe, and aligned with company quality standards. The Veggie Mixer works collaboratively with team members to maintain efficient production flow while adhering to all safety, quality, and sanitation requirements.
Responsibilities
- Measure and mix vegetable ingredients according to batch recipes and production schedules.
- Operate and monitor mixing equipment to ensure consistent product quality; adjust ingredient proportions as necessary.
- Set up, operate, and clean mixing equipment according to company procedures; perform routine checks and report issues to maintenance.
- Inspect vegetable ingredients for freshness, quality, and compliance with specifications before mixing.
- Document batch details, including ingredient quantities, lot numbers, and deviations from the standard process.
- Work closely with the QA team to address quality concerns or adjustments.
- Adhere to Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and follow all company food safety policies, including allergen protocols to prevent cross-contamination.
- Maintain a clean and organized work area at all times.
- Coordinate with production line teams to ensure a steady supply of mixed vegetables to meet production demand.
- Monitor inventory levels of ingredients and notify supervisors of shortages or overstock situations.
- Assist in production area tasks as needed.
- Accurately complete production logs, including batch records, waste logs, and equipment cleaning checklists.
- Track ingredient usage and report discrepancies to supervisors.
- Follow all OSHA and company safety guidelines, including proper lifting techniques and safe operation of equipment; wear required personal protective equipment (PPE) at all times.
- Work closely with team members and supervisors to ensure efficient production flow; communicate any issues, delays, or concerns promptly.
- Perform additional duties as assigned by the supervisor or management to support overall production goals.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification in mechanical equipment preferred.
- Prior experience in food manufacturing or mixing roles is preferred but not required.
- Ability to follow detailed instructions and recipes accurately.
- Basic math skills to measure and scale ingredients.
- Attention to detail to ensure consistent product quality.
Physical Requirements
- Ability to stand, lift, and move for extended periods in a fast-paced production environment.
- Capable of lifting up to 50 lbs. and handling repetitive tasks.
- Comfortable working in environments with varying temperatures, including cold storage.
- Compliance with safety requirements, including PPE such as safety footwear, hearing protection, and safety glasses.
- Capability to work in variable temperatures and handle physical tasks like lifting up to 50 lbs.
- Standing or walking for extended periods and maneuvering around equipment.
Work Environment
This position works in a manufacturing environment with variable temperature and loud noises from machinery and equipment alarms. The incumbent will be exposed to loud noises and alarms from equipment and machinery. Some tasks may require additional safety measures to ensure the safe completion of the task.
