1ST SHIFT TRANSACTIONAL QUALITY AUDITOR

About the Role

This non-exempt position is responsible for scheduling, material management, and inventory audits within the Materials department at the Flatstock location.

Responsibilities

• Create and monitor schedules for Cut to Size, Cross Cut, Rip Saws, and Strip Line, including tracking zero orders and yields.
• Schedule material for all plant areas using HPO.
• Complete receiving procedures in Oracle and MRP Comp.
• Apply basic knowledge of material flow and MRP systems.
• Research and perform cycle counts.
• Execute tasks as outlined in Job Instruction Breakdowns, Quality Specifications, and Standard Operating Practices.
• Run daily, weekly, and monthly audits using tools such as MRPCOMP, MRPPlanner, and RFID equipment.
• Determine causes of audit failures.
• Maintain accurate and thorough records of audits and findings.
• Record and report findings through proper paperwork.
• Actively participate in assigned teams, projects, and continuous improvement initiatives (e.g., kaizen events).
• Role model CITE and Working in Teams principles.
• Perform other tasks as directed by the direct supervisor.

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience using computer-based material management systems and proven proficiency with MRP systems.
• Excellent personal computer skills in a network environment, including Microsoft Office (Outlook, Word, Excel, Access).
• Strong planning, organization, and time management skills.
• Demonstrated problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment.

Qualifications

• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret business documents such as pallet tickets, manufacturing schedules, and job orders.
• Effective communication skills for interacting with co-workers and customers/clients.
• Proficiency in basic mathematical concepts (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division) for tasks like inventory control and production tracking.
• Ability to define problems, collect data, establish facts, and draw valid conclusions.
• Capability to interpret and carry out varied job tasks or instructions.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, kneel, bend, stoop, twist, and walk for 8–12 hours per day.
• Frequent use of hands to handle materials and reach with hands and arms.
• Must be able to speak and communicate clearly, hear warning signals (e.g., forklifts), and recognize characteristics in wood products.
• Ability to lift up to 40 lbs.

Working Conditions

• Indoor manufacturing environment with exposure to finishing production and hazardous chemicals.
• Safety glasses and hearing protection are required; work gloves are recommended.
• Moderate to high noise levels (90–105 dB range).
• Relative humidity ranges from 30% in winter to 80% in summer; temperatures range from 50–100°F.
• Occasional overtime and weekend work required.
