Key Responsibilities
- Perform scheduled preventive maintenance on tooling and fixtures to ensure proper function and reliability.
- Inspect tooling for wear, damage, alignment issues, and performance concerns; document findings in the MVP (CMMS) system.
- Absorb and assist in reworking, repairing, or refurbishing tooling components to support production needs.
- Install tooling and assist with equipment/tooling repairs as required.
- Participate in continuous improvement activities related to tooling reliability and PM processes.
- Complete and/or assign work orders in the MVP system for all PM, repair, and inspection activities.
- Support the safety committee by addressing tooling-related safety concerns.
- Participate in problem-solving teams to address tooling, quality, or production issues.
- Document tooling changes, PM results, and repair actions on drawings and in the MVP system.
- Maintain accurate PM records, inspection logs, and tooling history files.
- Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work area.
- Perform other duties as assigned by supervision.
Job Requirements
- High School Diploma or equivalent required.
- Machinist training from a college or vocational/technical school preferred.
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints and tooling drawings.
- Proficiency with measuring devices such as calipers, micrometers, tape measures, thread gages, and thickness gages.
- MVP (CMMS) system experience preferred.
Competencies
- Ability to troubleshoot and repair tooling with minimal supervision.
- Ability to systematically disassemble and reassemble tooling/fixtures.
- Strong attention to detail and consistency in performing preventive maintenance tasks.
- Ability to build or refurbish fixtures with assistance.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to identify tooling wear patterns and recommend improvements.
- Strong organizational skills and ability to maintain a well-organized work area.
- Commitment to working safely and efficiently.
Physical & Work Environment Requirements
- Ability to lift up to 20 lbs.
- Regular standing, sitting, talking, hearing, and use of hands for handling tools and equipment.
- Close vision required for inspection tasks.
- Work performed in both office and manufacturing environments.
- Occasional exposure to moving mechanical parts, vibration, and moderate noise levels.
- Local travel to various worksites as needed.
