1st Shift Team Lead

Employment Type: Contract to Perm
Pay Rate: $19.00 / hour (starting at $18-19, based on experience)

About the role

Cardinal Staffing is partnered with a warehouse in Brooklyn, MI focusing on sorting and inspecting produce. They are currently looking to add an experienced line lead to their team. This is a first shift position, working 7:45 a.m.–4:30 p.m. This is a temp-to-hire position, with long-term opportunities and growth available.

Responsibilities

• Foster a positive, team-oriented work environment that encourages collaboration, accountability, and employee engagement.
• Oversee daily production line operations to ensure efficient workflow and on-time completion of customer orders.
• Partner with the Team Lead to meet production schedules while maintaining quality and customer specifications.
• Coordinate production staff to achieve productivity goals, improve efficiency, and minimize downtime.
• Maintain a clean, organized, and safe work environment in compliance with company standards.
• Assist with the accurate completion of production documentation, including work orders and operational records.
• Perform routine quality inspections to verify product accuracy, packaging, labeling, and overall presentation, addressing quality issues promptly.
• Train, mentor, and support new employees to ensure successful onboarding and strong team performance.
• Promote workplace safety by monitoring compliance with safety procedures, identifying hazards, and reinforcing company policies.
• Identify production challenges and collaborate with leadership to implement process improvements and corrective actions.
• Ensure compliance with Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), company policies, and applicable industry certifications.
• Participate in safety meetings and Standard Operating Procedure (SOP) initiatives while modeling safe work practices.
• Communicate organizational goals and support company initiatives to improve operational performance.
• Perform additional operational and leadership responsibilities as assigned.
