1st Shift Shipper Loader
Pay Rate: $18.35/hr. Full-Time Hourly position. OT and weekends may be required (10pm – 6am). Physical location: 368 Technology Drive, Dothan, AL 36303.
About the role
Operates forklift in a safe and efficient manner following all safety rules, policies, and protocols. Unloads inbound and outbound shipments safely and moves products to storage locations.
Responsibilities
- Efficiently stack and store merchandise in appropriate areas.
- Ensure inbound and outbound shipments are accurate and free of damage; report quality variances.
- Pull and prepare orders for shipment, ensuring exact number and type of product is loaded and shipped.
- Move product from staging/storage areas and production lines into trailers or storing/staging areas.
- Load, unload, move, stack, and stage product and materials using a forklift or other power equipment.
- Maintain facility’s equipment and materials in a neat, clean, and orderly fashion.
- Daily inspection and minor maintenance of forklift or other equipment.
- Maintain tight inventory control and security through appropriate records and reports.
- Assist in physical inventories.
- Maintain a clean, neat, and orderly work area.
- Perform or assist in building, grounds, and equipment maintenance as required.
- Complete forms, logs, inventory, and records accurately.
- Perform shipping and billing duties when shipping lead is absent.
- Other duties as assigned by managers and/or supervisor/shift leader.
Requirements
- Ability to read and understand loading instructions.
- Solve problems with minimal assistance.
- Provide daily feedback to supervisor regarding all aspects of shift activity.
- Effective communication with employees, supervisors, and managers.
- Basic computer skills (data entry) and ability to perform basic arithmetic (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division).
- Previous forklift experience required.
- Previous forklift experience in a manufacturing setting of at least two years preferred.
- Experience handling material without the use of pallets preferred.
- Ability to learn and understand machine line-up.
- Flexible and willing to work overtime as needed.
