About the Role
Unloads and receives all inbound merchandise. Verifies accuracy before receiving merchandise into the Catalyst/WMS system. Utilizes a lumper service to build and secure pallets for storage. Processes required paperwork and maintains a safe, clean work environment.
Responsibilities
- Verifies purchase orders, ensuring Bills of Lading match items on the purchase order and all corresponding paperwork (inner pack, dimensions, carton quantity). Counts all products to confirm accuracy.
- Achieves set productivity standards on a daily, weekly, and monthly basis.
- Constructs pallets according to dimensions specified on paperwork, including setting up pallet height and tie configurations.
- Notifies Inventory Control if an item lacks a pick slot.
- Instructs Lumper service on proper, safe pallet-building procedures to ensure timely unloading of freight.
- Applies proper decals/licenses and secures pallets using shrink-wrap or tape.
- Processes paperwork, ensuring it is signed, reconciled, and correct.
- Receives approval for changes by notifying Slot Clerk of discrepancies between paperwork and actual merchandise.
- Informs management of any issues that may delay timely processing of merchandise.
- Completes daily PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) checklist to verify equipment functionality and reports defects to management or maintenance.
- Operates PIT equipment safely and follows all safety procedures and guidelines.
- Maintains an organized work area and promotes a safe working environment within the Receiving department.
- Adheres to all Company policies and procedures.
- Performs additional duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Counting skills required.
- Able to perform essential job functions, with or without reasonable accommodation, including frequent lifting of up to 50 pounds.
- Adequate fitness level to meet demands of frequent lifting, walking, standing, moderate climbing, occasional sitting, stooping, and kneeling.
- May be required to operate PIT equipment.
- Must use Personal Protective Equipment (PPE) as required by the Distribution Center.
Working Conditions
- Works in a non-climate-controlled Distribution or Warehouse environment, where outside weather conditions significantly affect indoor temperatures (fans and heaters are used).
- May be exposed to or work in restricted spaces, fumes, and airborne particles as regulated by OSHA.
- Performs shift work and must be available for overtime, weekends, and holidays.
