Responsibilities
- Collaborate with team members to produce quality Kringle according to production standards and demands under the guidance and direction of the Baking Supervisor.
- Lead the Dough and Kringle Line teams (approximately 12 team members) through daily production needs and operations.
- Engage team members; work with other managers, supervisors, and Human Resources to facilitate positive relationships with team members.
- Assist the Baking Supervisor in overseeing the integrity and production of Kringle sold in retail stores, wholesale, and mail order.
- Assist Baking Supervisor in overseeing daily dough production and quality.
- Work to optimize operational efficiencies while ensuring the company’s high-quality standards are met or exceeded.
- Ensure that all workers on the team are trained and adhere to the company's Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs).
- Ensure that all workers on the team are trained and adhere to the company's HACCP and other food safety procedures.
- Navigate, operate, and troubleshoot machinery and equipment required for the kringle line operations.
- Within the guidelines of the company’s maintenance program, troubleshoot issues and involve maintenance to ensure equipment is available for use when needed and properly maintained.
- Ensure daily/weekly orders are being filled accurately.
- Build up team members to ensure the team functions as well or better in the absence of their supervisor as when the supervisor is present.
- Be willing to help other departments when in need to help carry out the company’s mission on a daily basis.
- Perform other related duties as assigned by management.
Requirements
- High School Diploma or GED; Bachelor’s degree preferred.
- Leadership experience in a Food Service and/or Manufacturing environment strongly desired.
- Strong math skills, including the ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide without the aid of a calculator.
- Ability to read and speak English.
- Ability to obtain information and take a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- Ability to lead staff members in a collaborative and encouraging manner.
- Ability to speak Spanish desired, but not required.
Working Conditions
- FDA-classified "major allergens" are processed in our facilities, including: milk, eggs, wheat, soy, tree nuts, and sesame seeds.
- Must be able to work in an environment with changing temperatures from 50°F to 95°F.
- May be exposed to cleaning chemicals, loud equipment and machines, and other environmental hazards associated with a production or warehouse facility.
Physical Demands
- Ability to lift 50 pounds repetitively throughout shift.
- Comfortable standing, lifting, and bending for the duration of an entire shift.
- Ability to complete repetitive motions throughout the designated shift.
- Ability to stand or walk for extended periods of time throughout shift.
