Description
POSITION OBJECTIVE:
Cook up and oversee daily production for the machine process. Help ensure acceptable production rates and meeting customer deadlines. Provide initial supervision for the Production Associates and Machine Operators.
- Ensure all necessary supplies are consistently available for production
- Responsible for setting up, changing over, and setting up the production line
- Verify that the right packaging materials are in use
- Quickly correct workstation errors and make minor adjustments and repairs to keep the process running
- Maintain hourly expected job rates for productivity
- Work with Quality to report defective products or packaging and ensure quality standards are met
- Have accurate knowledge of production orders and labor allocation forms
- Ensure workstations and daily orders run smoothly and efficiently to complete daily orders
- Assist in training and mentoring employees on their tasks
- Correctly fill out necessary paperwork
- Ensure the production floor is a safe environment, hazard-free
- Pursue continuous improvements
- Other duties as assigned
Requirements
- Education, Training & Experience:
- - High School Diploma or GED
- - 1-2 years supervisory experience preferred
- - 1-2 years manufacturing experience preferred
- - On-the-job training provided
- Skills, Knowledge & Abilities:
- - Knowledge gained through on-the-job training of company products, policies, and procedures
- - Ability to pay close attention to detail
- - Skill in operating various equipment as needed to perform the job
- - Skill in multitasking and time management
- - Ability to function cooperatively and effectively in a team environment with peers and personnel in other departments
- - Ability to keep company and customer information that is discussed or viewed while under employment with Truvant confidential
- - Ability to adhere to all regulatory and company policies, procedures, work instructions including but not limited to: Truvant policies, customer specific policies, ISO, GMP’s, USDA, regulatory food safety and food defense
- Physical and Environmental Requirements:
- - Must be able to read documents, printouts, computer screens and other communications
- - Must be able to hear well enough to communicate with co-workers
- - Must be able to reach, touch, grasp
- - Must be able to stand and/or walk for prolonged periods of time
- - Must be able to climb, stoop/kneel, lift, pull and push
- - Must be able to conduct oneself in a safe manner to avoid accidents while on the production floor
- - Must be able to work in various environments based on building location and products
- - Level of Physical Requirements: Sedentary to medium work level; lifting and positioning weight loads up to 35 pounds
