Our experienced manufacturing teams blend craftsmanship with technology to produce precision rolls and web handling equipment for the world's leading brands. The Plate Engraver/Etcher etches designs and/or patterns on steel rolls and plates using nitric and muriatic acid solutions. Engraving process is done in accordance with job specifications and conformance to customer demands and expectations. Attaining journeyman status requires multiple years of training, precision work and mastering several levels of engraving and variety of machines.
Responsibilities
- Etch designs and/or patterns on steel rolls and plates using nitric and muriatic acid solutions
- Perform engraving process in accordance with job specifications and conformance to customer demands and expectations
- Use different mill types and maintain equipment
- Identify operational issues and problem solve
- Apply engraving techniques competently and produce consistent, quality precision work
- Use personal protective equipment safely and effectively
- Comply with proper work practices and safety initiatives
Requirements
- High degree of accuracy, job knowledge and attention to detail
- Ability to listen to and understand information, as well as comprehension of written communication, job details, drawings, blueprints, and instructions
- Experience with shop math, reading blueprints and instruments such as micrometers
- Ability to use different mill types, identify operational issues, problem solve and maintain equipment
- Good understanding of tool development and application to roll engraving
- Ability to lift a minimum 50 lbs
- Safe, effective use of personal protective equipment and compliance with proper work practices
- Ability to walk and/or stand for lengthy periods
- Detail attentive with dedicated long-term willingness to learn the trade
- Mechanical aptitude and practical use of tools and equipment
Qualifications
- High School Graduate
- Artistic qualities or background (school/hobby) preferred
- 2-yr minimum experience in printing/plate making preferred
- Prior work in manufacturing environment a plus
