1st Shift Packer (13400)

About the role

Responsible for the safe, damage-free, and accurate preparation of all outbound shipments of product based on customer demand.

Responsibilities

• Communicate quality and shipment concerns to the PC Supervisor to assure 100% on-time delivery is maintained.
• Prepare customer shipments by pulling correct product, labeling each container with proper identification, verifying product, and wrapping.
• Operate forklift or electric hoist to assist in moving finished product.
• Work overtime as required to meet customer demand, including flexible hours and holidays.

This position requires a strong work ethic, exceptional attention to detail, ability to follow standardized work, and the ability to continually lift, twist, bend, and handle up to 30 pounds. Must be a highly motivated, strong team player, and able to function in a deadline-driven, fast-paced, and changing environment.

Requirements

• High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
• Ability to read, analyze, and interpret documents such as manifests, summary reports, correspondence, and memos.
• Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations (e.g., team meetings).
• Basic mathematical skills: add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals; compute rate, ratio, and percent.
• Ability to solve practical problems and deal with concrete variables in standardized situations.
• Ability to interpret instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
• Basic understanding of tablet/scanner use for PLEX.

Physical Demands

• Regularly required to stand, walk, use hands to finger/handle, and talk or hear.
• Frequently required to reach with hands and arms.
• Occasionally required to sit, climb or balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
• Regularly lift and/or move up to 50 pounds; occasionally move up to 75 pounds.
• Specific vision abilities required: close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus.
