About the role

The Mold Tech will report to the Shift Supervisor and will have functional leadership responsibilities. This position is intended to describe the general content of and the requirements for the performance of this position.

Responsibilities

  • Set up machines for operation, change material and color to meet production schedules
  • Maintain efficient production levels in a fast-paced environment
  • Identify alpha / numeric product codes
  • Respond to alarms and/or requests for assistance to correct machine malfunctions and/or Packer/Handler problems
  • Use proper Lockout/tagout procedures
  • Coordinate with Quality Assurance and Maintenance Departments concerning machine operations and malfunctions
  • Inspect scrap to prevent any usable product from being ground and record scrap numbers
  • Absorb responsibilities in the absence of the supervisor, including training employees, planning, assigning, and directing work, and addressing complaints

Requirements

  • Extensive knowledge of injection molding machinery and processes to include mold set-ups, trouble shooting, and exposure to maintenance problems
  • Read and comprehend complex, detailed instructions and correspondence
  • Write simple correspondence
  • Apply commonsense understanding to carry out detailed written or verbal instructions
  • Deal with problems involving variables in standardized situations
  • Add, subtract, multiply and divide, in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions and decimals
