1st Shift Material Handler (Temporary To Hire)
About the role
Endress+Hauser is seeking a Material Handler to join their Level+Pressure USA Supply Chain Logistics team in Greenwood, Indiana. The role involves supporting incoming goods, internal material flow, inventory accuracy, and outbound shipment preparation to ensure production teams and customers receive materials and finished products as needed.
Responsibilities
- Meet the basic requirements of employment by working safely, performing quality work, and executing tasks in a timely and efficient manner.
- Actively maintain 5S standards and keep workspaces clean, organized, and ready for safe daily operations.
- Perform receipts of incoming material, verifying quantity, condition, and receipt accuracy.
- Cycle count inventory according to the defined schedule and make necessary adjustments to support accurate inventory and steady material flow.
- Perform timely put-away of received material using the First-In, First-Out method.
- Operate powered industrial vehicles such as forklifts, tuggers, order pickers, and pallet jacks.
- Distribute materials within the facility to support production work centers, complete necessary transactions, and support efficient lineside presentation by de-trashing and preparing delivery containers.
- Update the status of completed orders and prepare finished products for packing and shipping.
- Utilize SAP and other systems to perform routine transactions that accurately move materials and products.
- Communicate effectively with team members, internal customers, and external customers while promoting a positive, respectful, and customer-focused work culture.
Requirements
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Read, write, and communicate effectively.
- Able to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedural manuals.
- Prior training and/or experience in a warehouse or shipping environment, or a willingness to learn.
- Safety-minded and comfortable working in a fast-paced warehouse and manufacturing environment.
- Basic Microsoft Office skills and a willingness to learn SAP and other computer systems.
- Strong attention to detail, quality focus, and the ability to complete accurate work.
- A positive attitude, contribution to a respectful team environment, and support for continuous improvement ideas.
- Comfortable lifting and moving up to 35 pounds, using appropriate lifting assistance for items weighing more than 35 pounds.
- Physically capable of standing, walking, reaching, stooping, kneeling, crouching, and other physical movements throughout the workday.
