Responsibilities
Key Responsibilities:
- Health, Safety, and Compliance: Adhere to all HSE policies, procedures, and processes. Maintain current certifications, including LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and WAH (Working at Heights), and complete renewals as needed. Identify and report hazards using T cards, hazard hunt forms, and Ace cards. Take ownership of safety issues such as oil and coolant leaks, ensuring proper documentation in EOS reports through resolution and closure.
- Equipment Maintenance And Troubleshooting: Troubleshoot equipment downtime efficiently using existing documentation and develop new guides for unplanned or novel incidents. Partner with CM/PM planners to implement sustainable, long-term solutions that improve equipment reliability. Manage and escalate downtime events in accordance with established processes, maintaining clear communication with cross-functional teams. Support complex issue resolution through detailed documentation, including images, part numbers, and system information to aid reassembly and future troubleshooting.
- Housekeeping And 5S: Maintain high housekeeping standards by consistently applying 5S practices across the shop floor, maintenance areas, and workstations. Restore work areas to a clean and organized state upon completion of each task. Maintain an organized, clutter-free toolbox aligned with visual management standards.
- Project Management And Continuous Improvement: Execute and close delegated projects within and outside core workstreams using continuous improvement tools such as A3s and Kaizen. Provide guidance and support to team members contributing to project work, fostering a collaborative and productive environment. Participate in cross-functional initiatives, demonstrating a positive and growth-oriented mindset. Contribute feedback and insights to enhance PM and CM processes. Support the development of new procedures aimed at reducing equipment downtime.
- Training And Development: Participate in training and certification programs, ensuring completion and pass-off of all attended courses. Provide feedback to support the enhancement of training content and delivery. Demonstrate a commitment to ongoing self-development by expanding technical expertise through training and hands-on experience.
- Communication And Reporting: Accurately and timely report completed work using the STAR method. Document task outcomes and lessons learned to support knowledge sharing and continuous improvement. Actively engage in team meetings, contributing feedback and ideas to improve team performance. Communicate effectively with peers, shift leads, and cross-functional partners to maintain alignment and minimize downtime.
- KPI Management And Performance Metrics: Monitor individual and departmental KPIs, including MTTR, MTBF, PM completion, and utilization. Align maintenance activities with departmental goals, emphasizing downtime reduction and operational efficiency.
- Collaboration With Team Leads And Cross-Functional Teams: Ensure equipment and tools are available to support production and maintenance activities, proactively addressing gaps. Partner with team leads to resolve ongoing downtime and provide support during high-priority incidents.
- Escalation And Issue Management: Follow established escalation processes for major downtime incidents and communicate support needs to on-shift leadership. Escalate issues promptly to prevent extended downtime. Provide timely updates on project progress and downtime resolution status.
- Ownership And Accountability: Take full ownership of assigned tasks, ensuring completion within the day and accurate submission in EOS reports. Model proactive problem-solving behaviors and encourage accountability across the team. Demonstrate professionalism and awareness of how individual actions impact team performance and departmental reputation.
Qualifications And Experience
- Education: Technical certification or associate degree in industrial maintenance, electrical systems, or mechanical engineering preferred.
- Experience: Three to five years of hands-on experience in industrial maintenance, ideally within a high-volume automotive manufacturing environment.
- Technical Skills: Strong expertise in electrical systems, PLC troubleshooting, and mechanical repair. Ability to read and interpret schematics, wiring diagrams, and mechanical drawings. Experience working with LOTO, WAH, and other HSE-related certifications. Forklift, aerial lift, or similar equipment certifications are beneficial.
- Soft Skills: Strong communication and documentation capabilities. Ability to work effectively both independently and within a team environment. Demonstrated leadership, ownership mindset, and accountability.
