Major Work Duties
- Responsible for both training/competency in SafetyLPC LOTO (lockout/tagout)
- Sit-down counterweight forklift training (including LPC certification)
- Hoist, endless web sling and magnet safety
- Understanding and demonstrated competency with hand tools needed for tool prep tasks
- Demonstrated competency for component definitions: mold, hole burner, dies, TF, IP and TP
- LPC Item Master Browse
- LPC Production Schedule Browse – From Job Name and can determine tooling sequence
- Inventory Detail by Item Browse
- SharePoint – Can enter tooling repair and requests
- Record keeping – understands and demonstrates keeping and maintaining good tooling preparation notes
- Tooling Component – Can identify where and how to clean various tooling components
- Tool Cleaning – understands and demonstrates where and how to clean various tooling components
- Tooling Inspection responsibilities including:
- Competency for looking for damaged, broken and missing components
- Punches – assessment for issues such as chipping and acceptable tooling which are flat and sharp
- Plugs – ability to determine of tooling is broken, wobbly or needs sanding or repair
- Steel Rule Dies – ability to verify appropriate sharpness and identify loose rule and rollover
- Blow Seal – Identify worn or missing seals
- Troubleshooting – Identify and correct issues with clamp frame, water, air and mold alignment issues
- Minor Repair of tooling and components including demonstrated ability to:
- Retap stripped threads & install Heli coils
- Rebuild clamp air cylinders
- Replace Broken mold plugs
- Ability to do minor maintenance (air and water lines)
- Hole burner – solder broken wires, straighten wires and add electrical plug
- Replace broken tag slot dies and punches
- Tooling Testing…demonstrated ability to:
- Clamp cylinder/frame works
- Water check for leaks
- Checks hold burner continuity
- Ready tooling package for installation in machine by:
- Assembling correct length bolts
- Reconfiguring mold ribbings, mold plugs, locator, punches, dies & knives
- Previous tooling experience
- eKnowledge of basic math skills along with some more complex formulas including measurements
- Must demonstrate mechanical reasoning skills and ability
- Must have excellent deductive reasoning and troubleshooting skills
- Must correctly practice all safety procedures
- Knowledge of machines and tools, including their designs, uses, repair and maintenance
- Skill in the use of hand tools, drills, grinders, saws, and other related equipment preferred
- Excellent time management and the ability to organize and manage multiple priorities
- Strong team player with excellent problem solving and decision-making skills
- Great attitude and a willingness to learn
