1st Shift Journeyman Tool & Die Maker I

About the role

Milwaukee Valve Company is seeking a 1st Shift Journeyman Tool and Die Maker I to join our Prairie Du Sac, WI team in Department 761. All offers of employment are contingent upon successful completion of a pre-employment drug screen, blood test, physical capabilities test, and background check, all with acceptable results. Applicants are responsible for scheduling and completing these tests within 7 calendar days of offer acceptance.

Responsibilities

• Operation and set-up of all types of machines in the Tool Room, including manual and CNC machines.
• Operation of the Wire EDM and Esprit CAD/CAM software.
• Comprehend and interpret all types of blueprints and specifications.
• Perform grinding duties as needed.
• Knowledge of measuring equipment used in the Tool Room.
• Train other personnel on machine operations.
• Routine maintenance of machines, including oiling.
• Maintain cleanliness and safety in the department.
• Use various toolmaker tools as needed.
• Ensure work meets tolerances to .0005.

Qualifications

• Two-year certificate from college or technical school.
• Eighteen to twenty-four months related experience and/or training.
• Equivalent combination of education and experience.
• Ability to read and interpret safety rules, operating instructions, blueprints, and procedure manuals.
• Write routine reports and correspondences.
• Apply mathematical skills, including addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, and basic geometry.
• Reasonably accommodate problem-solving abilities.
• Stand or walk 100% of the shift, frequently bend and lift up to 40 lbs., occasionally lift up to 70 lbs.
• Work in a noisy, dusty, and sometimes hazardous environment.
