1st Shift - Horticulture Spray Technician
Position Summary
The Spray Technician is an Assistant Grower responsible for pest control. They need knowledge of crops, pesticides, and equipment.
Key Responsibilities
Apply pesticides with specified methods.
Follow safety protocols, including REI.
Maintain equipment cleanliness and dispose of pesticides safely.
Record and apply pesticides correctly.
Ensure proper identification of pesticides and pests.
Facilitate trials on new products.
Scout for pests and diseases.
Complete IPM reports.
Coordinate with management on biological programs.
Apply and manage biological products.
Assist with facility tasks as needed.
Minimum Qualifications
Intermediate math skills for tank mixes.
Solid reading and communication skills.
Ability to work in a fast-paced, physical environment.
High attention to detail and organization.
Able to identify irrigation needs.
Flexibility with work hours during peak seasons.
Comfort with basic science and math concepts.
Preferred Qualifications
Horticulture education or related field.
Greenhouse, nursery, or agricultural experience.
Thorough knowledge of greenhouse machinery and processes.
6+ months assistant growing or handling/prescribing pesticides experience.
Job Setting & Physical Demands
Mainly outdoors but may work indoors for administrative duties.
Fluency in English required.
Must work in all outdoor conditions, including dust and allergens.
Long-term ability to stand, sit, squat, bend, reach, and twist.
Use fine motor skills and lift up to 35 pounds repetitively.
Certify and operate all necessary machinery and utilize required PPE.
