About the role
The 1st Shift Full Time Warehouse Material Handler is responsible for fulfilling customer orders by retrieving and stacking specific product quantities as specified on pick tickets or computer screens. This involves traveling throughout the warehouse’s pick area, building stable pallets of product, and meeting or exceeding safety, accuracy, and efficiency expectations.
Responsibilities
- Retrieve and place cases of product onto pallets as instructed by pick tickets, ensuring safe and stable stacking while meeting safety, accuracy, and efficiency standards
- Transport pallets of stacked product to different warehouse areas using a powered industrial truck (pallet jack) safely and efficiently
- Assist in warehouse cleanliness and housekeeping as needed
- Perform daily PIT checklist and report any issues to warehouse management
- Correct mistakes in product or quantity as identified by the checker
- Perform other duties as assigned to support efficient warehouse operations
- Engage in miscellaneous activities to maintain warehouse functionality in a dynamic environment
Requirements
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment while walking and repetitively lifting 30 lbs
- Ability to lift up to 75 lbs
- Ability to collaborate within a team environment
- Ability to coordinate and organize efficient and dependable warehouse processes
- Ability to adapt to different work areas and meet minimum expectations throughout the workday
- Ability to read and interpret instructions from a computer screen
- Attention to detail and ability to differentiate packages
- Ability to work in a noisy, non-climate-controlled environment (hot in summer, cold in winter)
- Self-starter who takes initiative and seeks value-add opportunities
- Flexibility with schedules and hours based on business demands
Qualifications
- Up to 12 months of work experience
- PIT (Powered Industrial Truck) Certification: Pallet Jack
Preferred Qualifications
- High school diploma or GED
