1st Shift Freight Handler

About the role

As a freight handler at our Distribution Center (225 Solar Dr., Imperial, PA), you’ll support the team by safely removing pallets of product from trailers, breaking down products for correct pallet configuration, separating inbound freight by item code onto good pallets, ensuring damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into warehouse sale inventory, and accounting for the structural integrity of pallets. Responsibilities

• Safely remove pallets of product from the trailer and break down the product for the correct pallet configuration.
• Separate inbound freight by item code onto good pallets.
• Ensure that damaged product is properly accounted for and not received into the warehouse for sale inventory.
• Account for the structural integrity of pallets.

Requirements

• Must be 18 years of age or older.
• Must be able to work holidays, weekends, and overtime as needed.
• Ability to work in extreme cold or hot conditions (‑25°F to 100°F).
• Must be able to read, write and communicate in English.
• Successfully pass a drug test (including marijuana) and background check.
• If you currently work for a Gordon Food Service customer, provide a letter of support from management if selected for interview.
• No prior experience required; training will be provided.

Pay

Starting at $16.94/hour, plus any performance incentives, bonuses, etc.

Schedule

Monday‑Friday work week; 1st shift – 6:00 AM until finished (approximately 1:00 PM‑2:00 PM).
