The Forklift/Material Handler ensures smooth operations within the production area by moving materials and products safely and efficiently using forklifts and other material-handling equipment. This role supports production goals in a fast-paced environment.
Responsibilities
- Operate stand-up lifts safely and efficiently to move materials and products.
- Communicate with Supervisors and Team Leaders via radio to request products for production lines; professional communication is required.
- Ensure timely delivery of materials to production lines to maintain continuous operations.
- Load and unload shipments, transport materials to designated locations, and maintain accurate inventory records.
- Perform regular equipment checks and basic maintenance on forklifts and other material-handling equipment.
- Maintain accurate inventory records and participate in cycle counts as needed.
- Follow all safety protocols and always wear appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE).
- Assist in organizing and maintaining a clean and orderly warehouse or production area.
- Identify and report any safety hazards, equipment malfunctions, or inventory discrepancies to supervisors.
- Collaborate with team members to optimize material flow and storage efficiency.
- Adapt to changing production schedules and priorities as directed by supervisors.
- Participate in team meetings and contribute ideas for process improvements.
- Cross-train within all functions of the Production area.
- Meet attendance standards per company policy.
Requirements
- At least one year of experience driving a stand-up forklift.
- At least one year of experience supporting Production Lines.
- High school diploma or general education degree (GED).
- Relevant experience within the last 2 years.
- Ability to be self-motivated to support assigned production lines.
